Athirapally-Vaazhachaal

This was an amazing, never expected trip, taking a business day's half time to relax. Just for people who doesnt know about this amazing place, Athirapally has been featured in many movies, recent example being the latest Ravanan/Raavan, and the classic example of Kamal Hassan's super hit movie Punnagai Mannan.

This place is located between Thrissur and Ernakulam in Kerala. The place called Chalakkudy leads to Athirapally about 35 kms long, beautiful hill road, well laid. The river comes along the road is very beautiful to see.

Athirapally is very beautiful falls with a lot of sound, falling from a height of 200 mts (who knows...just a guess). The sight of fresh white water falling from such a height is breathtaking. One can have the sight from where it is falling and also you can trek down the hill to have a front view of the falls. I just did the former due to lack of time.

Vaazhachhal is yet another breath taking falls 5 kms long from Athirapally. Here water flows along the rocks in a down stream with a huge sound which is loving to hear. I took some photos and backed off to Ernakulam.
