Bodyguard (Telugu) - Review

Cast: Victory Venkatesh, Trisha Krishnan, Saaloni, Prakash Raaj, Ali
Music: Thaman S.S
Produced by: Bellamkonda Suresh, Sri Sai Ganesh Productions
Directed by: Gopichand Malineni
Genre: Drama / Love

Story:

Venkatadri (Venkatesh) comes to work as Bodyguard to Prakash Raaj and being directed by him, he travels as bodyguard to Keerthi (Trisha), his daughter and Swathi (Saloni) to their college with the company of Ali and his love interest. This is to protect her from the threat of Kota Srinivasa Rao, enemy to Prakash Raaj. On being irritated by the strict behaviour of Venkatadri, Keerthi chalks out a plan to divert him in the name of Bhangaram, an anonymous caller. Going by the directions of Bhangaram, Venkatadri falls in love with her without seeing her and knowing who she is. In a chain of incidents Keerthi too falls for Venkatadri's true love. When she wants to inform Venky about her identity, Swathy makes her understand of her position and what Venky will do if he knows she is the lover. On a roller coaster ride of emotions, Keerthi decides to elope with Venky who is still clueless who his lover is. Watch out for a twist in the climax and lots of emotions being exchanged.

Review:
First one to be appreciated is Dir. Siddique for creating such a nice story that is a complete winner across languages and culture. Bodyguard (Telugu) is a nice adapted remake which doesn't affect the crux of the story and also adding essential elements to the Telugu audience. Kudos to Dir. Gopichand Malineni, for making it appeal to the audience once again. The role of Bodyguard is tailor-made for Venkatesh, with all elements of Comedy, Action, Romance and Sentiment. With all his experience, he carries the film on his shoulders. A special mention to Trisha, she proves that she is an experienced and seasoned actress and she can enact all emotions with maturity. Prakash Raaj does his role to the T, so does Saloni, Ali, and others. Thaman's music adds value to the film in the songs and his RR keeps us into the mood of the film. Chota K Naidu's camera captures beautiful locations of Canada. If they could have avoided some dull moments and a song in the second half, it would have been a perfect fit. Overall, Bodyguard is a good film that appeal to the complete family audience. A definite winner for both the creators and the audience.
