Father's Day Memories 2012

Its been long since I blogged. So I have been thinking of doing it on some topic. Today being Father's Day, it reminded me of my last year Father's Day experience. So here it is....

It was on 17th of June 2012 & I was busy as a bee getting ready for the busiest weekend of mine.. it was 3-in-1 adopt-a-thon in Blue Cross of India. We had the adoption drive and opening of two new facilities there by prominent celebs & animal lovers Amala Akkineni & Trisha Krishnan.

Yes.. u heard that second one right....  Its Trisha.. my favourite actor, animal lover & person!! And she is coming to the place where I volunteer. Cudn't ask for more. Its been a tense week for me from the moment I heard that she is coming. But we had a lot of work to cover for the event & the last 3 days were like a hell of work.

Finally the day came... I had met her couple of times the previous year! And have been usually tweeting to her on Twitter & she had done a few RTs too. So, i was too curious to know whether she will remember me or at least my name! I usually take up some work during the adoption drives like counselling the public or at least in the registration desk. but this time, i didnt wanted to fix me up at some place & wanted to roam free. My friends there too let me go because they know i dont do any work properly if assigned on that day! My cam was all set to click the pics. All I wanted was her to remember me & click a pic with her!!

Mrs. Amala arrived first & she went through the adoption areas & went on to the place function just began. Trisha was supposed to come by around 5 pm & she made it at time despite being a busy day of shoot. I was waiting at the entrance & was ready with my camera. The moment she got down of the car, she greeted my friend who have been co-ordinating with her for the event. Next she saw me & said "Hi Karthik.. how are u" & shook hands with me..... I need not say I was on cloud nine that moment. And a big thanks to the other photographer who clicked this wonderful moment that I will cherish for long time..

Then she visited the adoption drive & was getting along with the pups there. She then visited the place where the function was taking place, sat along with Amala & other officials. Gave a nice speech about her experiences of having an Indian Dog at home.

Mean time we took her around the shelter, explaining various places & activities that take place. She also saw me clicking pictures of her all through & asked me tag her in twitter like I used to share a lot of times before. (The regular work i do on twitter like sharing news articles, pictures & other news about her in the media). So, I was very happy that not only she remembered me, but the work I do also. Finally she came to open the puppy shelter. She even enquired before cutting the ribbon that is it the auspicious time to do as it was a Sunday & the raghu kaalam being from 4.30 pm to 6 pm. Then I told her that the time is over as it was past 6 pm.

She took lot of group pictures with our volunteers, gave interviews to press & online media, went round the shelter. Every one was looking for an opportunity to take an individual picture with her. I was waiting for the right moment, as I know If anyone ask her, she wont say no, but that should be at the right moment. Finally, she came inside our office room to have a look at couple of dogs & i decided that would be the right moment to ask, barring which she will leave. And I did, she agreed with a smile. Even my friend who took the picture teased me "How many pics u will take with her?" & I said , "How many times ever, it is always special for me" right in front of her! So, here goes the pic...

It was the best 2 hrs of my life, having accomplished all that I wanted to do for the day! I always believe it was the blessings of my Father, who left us a few weeks before I met Trish for the first time. Happy Father's Day!!!

P.S: You can find me gluing around her in these videos...

THANK YOU
