Trisha goes missing...

This is an article that appeared in The Hindu, Tamil edition today, 20th December 2013 written by Mr. C. Murugesh Babu. He had highlighted her Miss Chennai day & few incidents with her after that.

This article brings out her professionalism, which is the key factor in her success in the industry for these 10+ years. I am attaching the news paper cutting & the web link which are both in Tamil. And for those who can't read Tamil, has translated it to English.

As it is true that after Aishwarya Rai’s victory the beauty queen contest in India became popular, it is also true that after Trisha’s Miss Chennai title, Tamil beauties are widely acknowledged. Trisha is the first winner of Miss Chennai title. Only in 1999 the Miss Chennai contest started & it is the first grand beauty contest in Chennai.

The finale of Miss Chennai contest.. all the audiences in Music academy were cheering “Trisha.. Trisha” She was one of the 10 finalists. All of them were doing cat walks and the audience enjoyed it. I liked the other contestant Nirupama rather than Trisha who looked very lean & skinny. Nirupama was also popular after being found in few magazines. Unfortunately she wasn’t selected in top 3 & Trisha won the title.

I just jumped on to the stage & gave her my visiting card, asking for an interview. She asked to come to her home next day by 12 noon and gave the address.

I was at her home next day by 12 noon and her maid welcomed me, inquiring my name and let me in. Trisha was glowing with oily skin & wearing simple night dress. My visiting card was on her table.

I started liking her from that moment. To my questions, she answered composed & with clarity. There is no surprise a beauty queen appears on the cover. She was the cover girl for that issue. Later I called her for the cover shoot for Millenium issue. She didn’t ask what is the story, what’s her contribution. She just believed that I will do good for her.

After she entered films, she got busy. There were talks among media that most of her phone calls were answered by her mom Uma Krishnan.

My assignment was to look in to the wishes of our readers & fulfil them. One of such reader had wished that Trisha should travel with him in his bike. I called Trisha. Her mom answered the call & told that she had gone for dance rehearsal. And said, she will call me back in 30 mins. After 30 mins Trisha called me. “Sir, when & where should I come?” asked Trisha. We discussed the places & finalised to shoot in Boat club area.

That reader was ready with his bike (all water serviced). Trisha’s car arrived at the right time. She spoke casually with the reader and made him comfortable. Then she asked, “I am ready, are u?”
While myself & Trisha’s mom were conversing, she gave different postures for the photographer along with the reader in his bike. Then she sat on his bike and was ready for the ride. The plan was to ride till the end of the road and come back. While we both were having a look of them travelling, the bike took a right turn at end of the road & sped. Trisha’s mom was asking me about the whereabouts of that reader. I thought she is inquiring to complain to the police.

The photographer was viewing through his viewfinder to capture the shots while they come back. Time went on. Trisha was not seen. I got tensed. I went near the photographer and dialed Trisha’s number. The phone was in her mother’s hands. She asked to call the reader’s number.

We heard a horn sound behind us. Trisha came with a smiling face. She asked “Didnt u yet call the police?” and continued, “Sir, don’t u want content for 3 pages? Add this as extra 2 paras. Four people identified me near the Park Sheraton signal. If anyone of them was a media person, then the news will come in today evening’s paper” and smiled. My liking for Trisha multiplied, as she gives friendly co-operation to media persons.
